Remodeling Work To Resume At Port Harcourt Airport Soon – Amaechi

Former Rivers State Governor and Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has said remodeling work will resume at the Port Harcourt International Airport immediately the 2016 budget is passed into law by the National Assembly.

He also said his worst decision he has taken in his life was the  nomination of his former Chief of Staff and current governor, Chief Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, as a minister in the cabinet of former President Jonathan.

Amaechi spoke yesterday at Igwurita community in Ikwerre local government area of the state, during a campaign rally organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of tomorrow’s National and State Assembly rerun election.

The minister, who stated that he has no regrets supporting and following President Muhammadu Buhari, instead of former President Goodluck Jonathan, said he had already apologized to the people of the state for nominating Wike as a minister.

Amaechi said, “I have no regrets following Buhari; the reason I have no regret following Buhari, the man doesn’t talk, but I prefer a man who doesn’t talk but acts.

“Look at the Port Harcourt International Airport, under our former

President and our brother, that airport was abandoned. But President Buhari has directed me to direct the minister of state for Aviation, to ensure that work resumes at the airport once the budget is passed.

“Under former President Goodluck Jonathan, we had a minister for Housing. That was all he gave us with a bad luck in the person of a minister of state for Education, Nyesom Wike. That was the worst decision I have taken in my life and have also apologized to Rivers people for bringing Nyesom Wike as minister of state for Education.
