Yobe Suffering from Political Insurgency, Says PDP

*Sheriff: Party to retake power in Borno, Yobe

By Onyebuchi Ezigbo in Abuja

The Peoples Democratic Party (APC) has said that beyond the ravages of the Boko Haram terrorist group, the people of Yobe state have been suffering from terrible misrule in the hands of the All Progressives Congress-controlled government.

Speaking while receiving a delegation of the PDP leaders from Yobe state, the National Chairman of the party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, said PDP is strategizing to ensure that it wins back most of the states in the north east, especially Yobe and Borno States.

A former Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Adamu Maina who led a delegation of PDP leaders from Yobe state to the national secretariat of the party in Abuja lamented the level under-development in the state which he said is being compounded by the activities of insurgents.

He said whereas a lot of people are aware of challenges imposed on the state by the Boko Haram attacks, the state government has also failed to live up to expectation in attending to the developmental needs of the people.

“If some people are blaming the PDP for the ills of the country in the last 16 years, we the PDP of Yobe state are blaming ANPP and APC for 16 years of misrule,” he said.a
