The suspect identified as Mrs Nike Azeez, is now on the run following the dastardly act, which took place in the Ijegun community in Lagos State.

PM News reports that Mrs Azeez’s husband, Jamiu Azeez has been arrested by the police and is being detained at the Isheri Oshun division for his alleged involvement in the crime.

Mrs Azeez had reportedly shocked the residents of the community on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, after she had doused the apartment in petrol, before setting it ablaze, successfully destroying all the properties within.

A visit by correspondents to the residence today, April 14, 2016, revealed that the victim, Adeleke Shakiru, had been forced to sleep outside with his family following the incident.

Mr Shakiru revealed that some money which he had kept in the house had been burned in the fire, adding that he had not been owing the landlord before the incident, asking for help from Nigerians.

The police reportedly discovered ashes of the burnt money, to the tune of N250, 000, kept in the house by the victim.

Mr Shakiru revealed that he had rented the apartment two years ago, using a small generator like other tenants living in the compound.

Mr Azeez was revealed to have asked the victim to stop using his generator which he reportedly kept outside the premises.

While asking the landlord why he had to get rid of his generator, Mrs Azeez is reported to have interrupted, asking Mr Shakiru to comply or move out of the compound.

Mr Shakiru had reportedly ignored the couple, going on to power his generator in other to charge his phones, only to have Mrs Azeez begin to threaten his family.

The victim also revealed that Mrs Azeez had gone on to make his life miserable, and at one point, had used a digger to remove his windows and doors, which had all been reported at the Ishero Oshun division.

Following the intervention of elders in the area, Mr Shakiru had reportedly withdrawn the case and replaced what the landlady had damaged.
