Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said  that President Muhammadu Buhari is very strict on issues concerning money .

Speaking  at the Old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday  at the presentation of “The Essentials of Beauty Therapy” written by the wife of the president, Hajiya Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, Osinbajo said Mrs Buhari should not expect large donations from him and the president as they were still receiving half salaries.

“The president and I are on half salaries. The president is very strict on money issues. So, don’t expect me to make a large donation,” Osinbajo who represented President Buhari said.

The vice president, who described the book presentation as very important, said it was “not just a book but it is an instructional manual. There is a lot of technical material but it’s helpful.”

Osinbajo noted that  the presentation of the book highlighted the importance of the girl-child eduction as he observed that if the wife of the president had not got the opportunity to go to school, she would not have been able to write the book and teach others.

He said: “Girl-child education is still an issue, girls not having the opportunity to go to school. If the wife of the president didn’t have the opportunity to go to school, she wouldn’t have had the opportunity to reach others.

“It emphasises the importance of education. Her desire to dedicate the proceeds of the presentation to the victims of insurgency and particularly the families of the Chibok girls is commendable.”

Noting that the day commemorated the second anniversary of the abduction of Chibok girls, Osinbajo assured that they were still alive and would be brought back to their families.

In her remark, Aisha Buhari said her decision to present the book now was borne out of the need to contribute to the support of victims of insurgency particularly mothers and children as well as malnourished children across the nation.

The chairman of the occasion and National Leader of the All Progressive Party (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who was represented by his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, observed that the vast potential of the beauty industry had not been tapped in Nigeria.

Noting that the industry generated a combined revenue of $19billion annually in the United States, he called for the training and certification of beauty salon operators in the country as well as the setting up vocational schools in partnership with beauty products.

A brief introduction of the book indicated that “The Essentials of Beauty Therapy” is “designed as work books for students, practitioners, tutors and provides information on their specific needs in simple-to-understand language.”

Among those who graced the occasion were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, Governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello, Tunde Bakare; former Cross River State governor, Donald Duke; Emir of Birnin Gwari,  Zubairu Jibril Mai Gwari II, former Super Eagle skipper, Yobo Joseph and Opral Benson.
