Ondo Election : PDP Suspends Poroye, 20 Others For Anti-party Activities
The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has suspended Mr. Biyi Poroye, the sacked state chairman of the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff-led faction, Ebenezer Alabi and 20 other chieftains of the party for anti-party activities in the just concluded governorship election in the state.
In a statement issued and made available to journalists in Akure,the state capital on Tuesday,the party through the State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Banji Okunomo, said the decision was taken at the State Working Committee (SWC) meeting of the party.
The party under the leadership of Hon.Clement Faboyede executive said, their decision was in line with Section 57 of the constitution of the party and the inherent task conferred on the State Working Committee of the party, the following members are hereby suspended from the party with immediate effect for gross anti-party activities.”
The party suspended Mr. Biyi Poroye, the sacked state chairman of the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff-led faction, Senator Omololu Meroyi, Ebenezer Alabi, the defunct state party chairman and running mate to Jimoh Ibrahim in the 2016 election, Dr. Bakkita Bello, the former State Assembly Speaker and Dare Emiola, the former Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly.
