BRILLIANT: Local Goalkeeper Scores Last-Minute Bicycle Kick To Draw Game With Orlando Pirates [Video]

The goalkeeper coming up for a corner is (real) football’s version of the Hail Mary, a last-gasp attempt to salvage something from a match that usually hasn’t gone to plan.

Most of the time the ‘keeper doesn’t offer much, wandering around the box before turning tail and speeding back towards his own goal.

Last night, however, saw Baroka’s Osacrine Masuluke score a goal that he’ll be talking about for years – a 96th minute bicycle kick that salvaged a draw against Orlando Pirates.

Look at this – unreal:

Over at TimesLive, they can barely keep it together:

An occasion of inpiration that only the football gods, or perhaps a momentary anomaly in the alignment of the planets at that particular milisecond that Masuluke decided through pure instinct to do what he did, could possibly account for.

All jokes aside, it’s just bloody glorious to watch.

If you want to really soak up the vibe here’s a lengthier clip from SuperSport:

There’s a chance that goal might be in the running for next year’s Puskás Award (the best goal of the year), but we’re getting ahead of ourselves.

That’s because we actually have a goal from Bafana Bafana midfielder Hlompho Kekana in the mix for this year’s award – see that stunning strike from the halfway line HERE.

If you want to vote for Kekana’s effort head over HERE – only takes a second, do it.

Thanks, Evan
