MMM-Nigeria Splashes N2.5m On Orphans, Vulnerable In Plateau
MMM-Nigeria, a community of mutual financial aid and donations, in collaboration with Kids with a Vision Foundation (K-WAVF), yesterday, launched skills acquisition programme for orphans and vulnerable children in Jos.
The project tagged, “Life Empowerment Programme” was launched to expand the capacity of the K-WAVF Orphanage as it marks 10 years anniversary.
The facilities and basic training on the production of liquid soap, petroleum jelly, detergent, air fresheners, ‘Tie and Dye ‘clothing and other household items were secured for the orphanage.
Computer and other educational resources were also provided for the orphanage; while three pupils who recently lost their parents during a communal crisis in the state were given scholarships.
Over 130 teenagers from the orphanage, and others displaced from communities affected by crisis within the state were trained and empowered under the project sponsored by the “MMM-Community.’
Mrs Ojore Ojore, a Guilder in the ‘MMM Community’, said that the sponsorship of the project was a reflection of the group’s ideology of ‘better life for everyone’.
She added that besides providing help and donations to its members, humanitarian service was a flagship programme of the group.
