Nigerian Diaspora Significant Force In Socioeconomic Development – Minister
The minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama has said that Nigeria’s huge Diaspora potentials must be harnessed through targeted policy, for national development.
The minister said this, yesterday, at a one day multi-stakeholders validation seminar on the proposed National Policy on Diaspora Matters.
In a remark, delivered by the permanent secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sola Enikanolaiye, the minister said, the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari recognised the diaspora as a formidable force and significant contributor to the socio-economic, political, technological and industrial development of the country.
The keynote speaker, the former Nigerian ambassador to U.S. and the state of Israel, Prof George Obiozor said, the national policy on diaspora matters would expedite the integration and coordination of the skills and resources of Nigerians living abroad for the general development of the country.
