Osinbajo, Amosun, Ambode, Others Pay Tribute To Olaniwun

Vice president Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday led other prominent Nigerians in paying glowing tribute to the late Afenifere chieftain, Sir Olaniwun Ajayi during his funeral service at Isara, his hometown, in Remo North local government Area of Ogun State.
Osinbajo was joined by Governors Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos, Segun Mimiko of Ondo and the president of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote.

Others at the service were Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, Mrs Bola Obasanjo, two former governors of Ogun State,  Aremu Segun Osoba and Otunba Gbenga Daniel, chief Ayo Adebanjo, Minister of Mines, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Olusegun Oni, Chief Justice of Ogun State, Justice Olatokunbo Olapade, her Lagos State counterpart, Justice Funmi Atilade, Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Mrs Yetunde Onanuga, among others.

The Vice – President Osinbajo in his tributes at the Methodist Church, Isara, where a memorial service was held, hailed the deceased, saying his “life was all about service to Yoruba people and Nigeria.”

Osinbajo, who noted that the late Ajayi was a great author, devoting the last 10 years writing books, said he also set up a flourishing law firm “with the best practice in the continent of Africa.”
Governor Amosun said Ajayi lived his life in the service for mankind.

Former President of Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN), Dr. Sunday Mbang, who presided over the service, in his sermon, described Olaniwun Ajayi as the humblest man he had ever met, saying despite having ” all the trappings of power and wealth, Ajayi remained a humble man and a true soldier of the Lord.”
