Jozi Cops Caught Red-Handed Taking Bribe Yesterday [Video]

Corruption – it’s terrible until you need to wangle yourself out of a tricky situation with a sneaky bribe, right?

Up in Jozi two Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) officers have been suspended, a video posted to YouTube yesterday showing what appears to be a clear case of corruption.

The officers will now face an internal investigation, with possible charges of corruption to follow.

TimesLive with the story:

JMPD spokeswoman Edna Mamonyane on Monday said the two officers were caught on camera allegedly soliciting a bribe from a motorist.

The motorist can be seen emptying his pockets to hand them literally every last cent he had on him.

The video‚ captured on a cell phone‚ was posted to YouTube by Mikail Patel on Sunday.

“We are preparing a docket for the public prosecutor to help us establish if they can be charged criminally‚” Mamonyane said.

“Internally we will carry on with our investigation‚ separately from the criminal case.”

For the more sensitive out there, you will hear an F-Bomb quite early on:

I’m rather fond of the child’s delight in that video above – maybe we have a little crime fighter to be?
