CSL, partners set to reduce fire risk in Nigeria via FirePro technology
In order to reduce fire risk in the country and safe lives and property, one of the private organisations in fire protection systems and related services, Crown Safemasters Nigeria Limited, with its foreign partners have introduced easy, assessable and self-performing fire suppression product, Fire Pro aerosol canister into the Nigerian market.
Considering the huge loss the Nigerian economy has suffered through fire incidence with many Nigerians subjected to poverty through lost by fire, CSL hinges on this new fire technology to reduce the rate of damages associate with fire outbreak in Nigeria.
Early this month, 40 shops were raised at Ilorin market. In 2016, Electronic section of the Alaba International market in Lagos state was gutted by fire and goods worth billions lost. Sabon Gari market in Kano, Old Market in Sokoto, Ebonyi states billions of Naira lost.
Speaking to media men on the franchising of this product that is about to gain ground in the Nigerian market, Managing Director, Crown Safemasters Nigeria Limited,Mr. Joel Unuaga, said that the essence of this is to introduce the product, Fire Pro to Nigerian. “It’s fire suppression designed from Europe and it has been in existence in other parts of the world, so we saw the need it would serve in Nigeria and we decided to bring it here to combat fire incidence in the country.
“It is a self-activation system installation that does not need anybody around when there is fire outbreak to arrest the fire. In our forthcoming conference we are going to show Nigerians open demonstration on how it works. No doubt we have different products of fire extinguisher, but this is a new technology with a difference and that is why we want to introduce it to Nigerians, companies that need to protect their facilities against fire. It is also a household product because it can be installed in vehicles, buildings, Oil, insurance and banking sectors can use it in their data centers, cable ducts, warehouses, electrical rooms, kitchen”.
Continuing, Unuaga said that banks can use it in their server room, data centres, cable ducts which is one of the essential areas in the banking industry. In the oil sector, they can use it in their platform, data room and server room. Once it is positioned according to manufacturer’s specification you don’t need to do anything when fire breaks out. There are going to be several forms of awareness on the product. The regulatory authorities in Nigeria and country of origin have certified the product before shipment. Presently CBN is using it. It doesn’t occupy much space because it’s in different sizes depending where you want to install it.
In addition, the company’s Executive Director, Alex Imegu said that one of the reasons of this product is to help reduce the challenge of under risk control both in insurance claims and other aspect because risk management and control damages is still at low percent compared to international standard. So, with this innovation in technology the cost of fire incidence will be reduced in Nigeria. What I’m trying to say is that the newly introduced fire fighting agents do not involve human risk to combat fire. While other solutions take much space for installation, this new fire fighting agent doesn’t take much space.
Project/Design Manager of the company, Engineer Shoniran Olukorede has carried out major installations of this product in critical infrastructural locations with proven records that gives him the confidence of the product effectiveness.
