Ndidi showcases Leicester City new season kit

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi was among the four players chosen to model as Leicester City unveiled their new home kit for the 2017-18 season Friday. The kit features a gold sleeve detail and one-button collar

The club announced the new strip on their Twitter account and released a photo of the strip being modelled by Jamie Vardy, Wes Morgan, Kasper Schmeichel and Wilfried Ndidi.

The Foxes will debut the kit at home to Bournemouth on Sunday, their last match of the Premier League season.

The 2017-18 kit does away with the last season’s traditional collar and returns to a similar neck design to the victorious 2015-16 campaign.

It also features a golden shoulder motif which stretches down across the sleeves.

The theme remains largely the same though as Leicester stay true to their colours and remain kitted out in blue shirts, shorts and socks for next season.

Puma continue as kit manufacturers for Leicester as they have done since the 2012-13 season while King Power remains the chief sponsor on the front of their shirt for the eighth straight year.

The club’s official website wrote: ‘Featuring the latest in Puma’s technical innovations, single-button ribbed collar and gold sleeve detail for the new season.

Leicester endured a disappointing campaign this season as they provided a meek defence of the Premier League title they won in 2016.

The Foxes sacked title-winning manager Claudio Ranieri in February after a run of form which saw them slip into the relegation zone.

Craig Shakespeare replaced the Italian at the helm and oversaw an upturn in form which included six straight wins to begin his reign.

After the 6-1 defeat to Tottenham on Thursday, Leicester are 11th in the table heading into their final match against Bournemouth.
