Ozzie Media Outlet Drops The Ball With Rabada / Ngidi Stuff-Up

Lillee and Thompson. Waqar and Wasim. Ambrose and Walsh. Steyn and Philander.

You know where this is going, don’t you? Yup, because on current evidence we may well be talking about Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi in a similar vein one day.

Anyway, we came here to talk about the shocker over at the Sydney Morning Herald, one of Australia’s biggest news outlets, and one that seems to have trouble telling Rabada and Ngidi apart.

Tom Eaton picked up on the error, which has since been corrected, and tweeted this out:

Not good, guys.

Of course Rabada has been suspended for two tests, the Ozzies getting their pre-series wish granted, and amazingly Steve Smith has now done a 180.

Having spoken about goading Rabada into reacting before arriving on our shores, he now bemoans the suspension on Sport24:

Australian captain Steve Smith says he wants Proteas speedster Kagiso Rabada to play in the remainder of the Test series…

“He’s a world class bowler and you always want to come up against the best, that’s for sure,” Smith said.

“He’s right up there. He’s unbelievable the way he’s been bowling.

“If he’s there, he’s there … if he’s not, he’s not. It’s our job to try and play some better cricket.”

Sure thing, Steve. He also spoke some bollocks about not crossing “the line”, which apparently is some magical construct owned and defined by the Australians.

Note to youngsters out there – shouting “YES” three times in Warner’s face is worse than Mitchell Marsh telling him to “f*ck off, c*nt”.

On the plus side, KG has returned to the number one test match bowler rankings, although that makes it all the more galling that he will now be putting his feet up.

I don’t know when next we will see these four men leading the Proteas attack, but what a thing of beauty it was:

The third test starts at Newlands on March 22, so let’s give those Ozzies hell.

A gentle reminder that wearing a Sonny Bill Williams mask makes you, and by association the rest of this country, look like a real pig.
