Scientology Launches TV Channel – Trailer And Live Feed [Videos]

I’m not quite sure why Scientology is seen as so much more ridiculous than other religions, but time and time again investigations have shown it to be a money-hungry cult of abuse.

If you haven’t yet seen Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, you should do yourself a favour.

Who fancies an entire network, though? The Scientology Network began airing last night, and it promises to show just how great life inside the church can be.

Some of what’s in store, via Quartz:

According to a pre-launch page in the Apple app store, the channel will air original series produced by the group, including “L. Ron Hubbard: In His Own Voice,” “Voices of Humanity,” and “Meet a Scientologist.” An advertisement for the new channel plays like a corny commercial for an all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean, and ends with a simple question: “Curious?”

It’s corny as hell, so please do enjoy:

Almost as ridiculous as the National Rifle Association’s channel.

Of course this isn’t their first desperate foray into PR, trying to counter a number of damning exposés, because they used to spend big on Super Bowl commercials.

Tough time to get into the TV game, with so much competition around, but thanks to paying bugger all taxes on a religious exemption they have cash to burn.

Fancy a dip into the live feed, to see what the network is broadcasting right now? Knock yourself out:

Scientology is estimated to have between 20 000 and 50 000 members globally, with the majority of those in the United States.
