Pilot Sucked Halfway Out Of Broken Cockpit Window [Video]

There have already been some pretty bizarre plane incidents from 2018 thus far, ranging from fatal to downright ridiculous.

But in this one, a bloke barely escaped from the ordeal alive.

According to the report by TIME, the co-pilot of a Sichuan Airline Flight was sucked halfway out of the cockpit after the windshield of the plane suddenly shattered at 32 000 feet.

The Airbus jetliner was flying from Chongqing in China to Lhasa in Tibet when it happened.

Pilot Liu Chuanjian told a local Chinese news outlet:

There was no warning sign. Suddenly, the windshield just cracked and made a loud bang. The next thing I know, my co-pilot had been sucked halfway out of the window.

To say that’s horrifying is a bloody understatement.

Thankfully, the crew managed to pull the co-pilot back in, and he suffered only a few minor injuries.

Per the TIME article:

The pilot of Sichuan Airlines Flight 3U8633 managed to safely make an emergency landing in the Chinese city of Chengdu Monday, despite being exposed to freezing temperatures and extreme conditions, according to reports in Chinese media.

The co-pilot and one other crew member sustained minor injuries, but none of the 119 passengers was injured.

Freaking terrifying.

Airbus is currently investigating the incident, together with local officials, to find out the cause of the crack.

I don’t know about you, but I think I’m gonna give the plane rides a break this year.
