Judge, Husband Slam N30m Suit On Air France Over Breach Of Contract

A judge of the Lagos State High Court, Justice Oke Lawal and her husband, Chief Bayo Lawal have slammed a N30m suit on Air France airline before the Federal High Court in the state over breach of contract.

The duo are claiming the sum as compensation for the anguish and mental distress they both suffered as a result of the breach of the contract.

In their statement of claim, the couple claimed that they boarded the defendants’ aircraft, Flight AF3849 from Lagos to Paris on July, 23, 2015 and then from Paris to Florence on Flight AF1066.

The plaintiffs also alleged that in Lagos, they duly checked in their luggage.

They averred that at the point of disembarking on arrival in Italy on July, 24,  2015, only two pieces of luggage belonging to the judge were delivered.

The couple further claimed that Chief Lawal discovered that his own luggage was lost or had been converted by servants of the airline working in the course of their employment and that the airline was immediately alerted.

According to the plaintiff, the following day, an employee of the airline brought a luggage to their hotel, but the wrongly tagged luggage was not his own.

They also alleged that the employee left with the baggage with a promise that he will do everything possible to deliver his luggage as soon as possible, a promise ge never kept.
