LASG Places Falomo Shopping Complex Up For Bidding

The Lagos State Government has thrown up the Falomo Shopping Complex for bidding under the public-private-partnership (PPP) arrangement, seven months after the termination of a concession that granted the redevelopment of the complex to Afriland Properties Plc.

This is just as the state government has urged appropriate business entities to undertake the development and delivery of a wide range of facilities in different parts of the state, also on a PPP arrangement.

These disclosures were expressed in a statement by the Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde issued on Sunday.

According to the commissioner, it was in continuation to the administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s aggressive commitment to urban development and expansion of business opportunities.

The statement said that the facilities included residential apartments, shopping and business malls, recreation parks, hotels, theme parks, zoos, car parks and other facilities that would add to modern city lifestyle.

The statement read: “The government is seeking proposals under PPP on how the site can be redeveloped into a world-class residential condominium complex with the full complement of lifestyle-enhancing facilities and complete communities’ direction strategy.

The site is to be developed as a low density, mixed use residential facility that would include the integration of the multi-use nature of the area.

Also, under the PPP redevelopment programme, the government has made available lands in various locations across the state on which it intends that malls, hotels and other lifestyle facilities would be established.

“The areas include Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Badagry, Ikorodu, Ojokoro, Gbagada, Oshodi and Amuwo-Odofin.’’
