Niger Republic election: 745 voters to vote in Kano centre

No fewer than 745 registered voters are expected to vote in Kano during on-going second round of Niger Republic Presidential election.

The Chairman of the Niger Republic Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) Kano Zone, Alhaji Iliyasu Sumaila disclosed this to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in an interview in Kano on Sunday.

He said the voters were expected to come and cast their votes between 8am and 7pm.

He expressed satisfaction with the turnout of voters at the second leg of the Presidential election.

“The election has commenced by 8am and is expected to end by 7pm”, he said.

According to him, the Commission has taken all the necessary measures to ensure a hitch-free election in Kano centre and other Centres across the country.

The Chairman said, “as you can see from the entrance of this consulate premises, adequate security agents are provided all in an effort to ensure peaceful conduct of the exercise.”

He said any registered voter who happened to be in Kano during the exercise, would be allowed to cast his or her vote provided he or she came along with his or her voter’s card.
