Over 200 Nigeriens In Abuja Vote In Diaspora Presidential Election Run-off

Salisu Muhammed an official of the Nigerien National Independent Electoral Commission (NIEC) on Sunday in Abuja said that over 200 Nigeriens resident in Abuja are expected to vote in the ongoing presidential election run-off.

Salisu who told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that “Sunday’s election has been generally peaceful, free and fair.”

He also said that not less than 180 out of 290 accredited Nigeriens have voted and that more voters are still been expected.
According to him, the voting exercise which started by 8:00 am will end by 7:00 pm.

NAN reports that security has been beefed up in and around the embassy.

Similarly, Abubakar Kalidu the President Nigeriens Community in Nigeria also expressed his delight in the smooth running of the Diaspora election process.

Kalidu however thanked Nigerians for their support during previous and the current run-off election.
NAN recalled that the Presidential and Parliamentary election took place in February 21. (NAN)
