Rivers Rerun: Rivers commissioner for water resources, APC leader abducted

A few hours to the National and Rivers State Assembly rerun election, the Rivers state commissioner for water resources, Chief Ibibia Walter, has been abducted by unknown gunmen, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged.

The party said Chief Ibibia Walter was on his way to Okrika to participate in the election.

Also, gunmen have abducted a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Elyon Ntiro Elijah, in Andoni local government area of the state.

Elijah was said to have been kidnapped at Asarama waterside in Andoni late last night.

The kidnappers reportedly took him away in a getaway speed boat by the Asarama waterside.

The PDP also alleged that Nigeria’s minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, is currently taking delivery of N5 billion at the Port Harcourt international airport. But the APC has denied the claim by the PDP.
