TSA: NEMA Trains Account Officials

Following the introduction of reforms in accounting for financial transaction, especially the Treasury Single Account, TSA by the federal government, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has organised training for its staff in Finance and Account Department and Internal Audit on current developments in fina ncial system.

The Director General, Muhammad Sani Sidi said that the training was meant to update staff on current realities in financial transaction and broaden the scope and mind of the staff to the enormous expectations of government and the public in general as well as to be in line with international best practices.

According to him, “In view of the current humanitarian challenges in the North East and the amount of resources required to address emerging challenges, the training to review policies and plans has become necessary.”

According to the spokesperson of the agency, Sani Datti, the DG further said the federal government had introduced so many reforms in accounting for financial transaction, such as Integrated Personnel and Payroll System (IPPS), Government Integrated Financial Management System (GIFMIS), Treasury Single Account (TSA), among others and that inventory documentation would soon be included.
