World Happiness Day: Cleric Urges Nigerians To Be Grateful To God

Pastor David Popoola, the State Pastor of Living Faith Church, Lokoja, has urged Nigerians to be grateful to God in all situations.

He made the call on Sunday in Lokoja while delivering a sermon entitled,: “Serving God is a Big Time Business.”

Popoola said Nigerians would smile and laugh again if they serve God faithfully with all their hearts, mind, strength and resources.

Quoting from Exodus 23 verses 25 and 26 in the bible, he said: “You shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless your bread and water; he shall take away sicknesses and diseases from your midst.

“God is still in the business of changing situation and putting smiles on the faces of those that diligently serve him.

“The will of God concerning us as his people is to be happy with one another and be grateful to him in all situations.

“We must be joyful and appreciate our creator for whatsoever we are able to achieve in life; we must thank God for the gift of life,” Popoola said.

The cleric urged Nigerians to keep praying for the nation and its leaders, adding that ` we owe our leaders prayers and goodwill.’’

“Nigerians will smile and laugh again; our wilderness shall be turned into fruitful fields and fruitful field into forest,’’ he said.

The cleric, however, admonished Christians to serve God by winning souls into His kingdom at all times.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the International Day of Happiness is celebrated throughout the world on March 20.

It recognises the relevance of happiness and well-being as universal goals and aspirations in the lives of human beings. (NAN)
