Vanguard Publisher commends Verdant Zeal’s plan for the needy

Lagos—The Publisher of Vanguard Newspapers, Mr. Sam Amuka-Pemu has commended Verdant Zeal for raising funds for the needy in the society through its photo exhibition.

Speaking weekend during the exhibition held at Renaissance Hotels in Lagos, Amuka-Pemu said that aside from the pictures being displayed for sale, people should support  the initiative.

The management of Verdant Zeal Group  stated that proceeds from the photo exhibition will go to the Good Cheer Initiative which is the charity arm of the company.

Amuka was conducted round the exhibition ground, a compilation of the company’s memoir for a decade around different parts of Africa such as: Addis Ababa, Zanzibar, Accra, Banjul, Abidjan, Cape own, Lagos, Dakar, Ethiopia, Abeokuta, Dar-es-Salaam and Osun State.

He expressed delight over the creativity put into the work.

“I have looked at these pictures, which are pictures as art. I am extremely impressed with quality of the work, the concept, the frame and the artistry,” he said.

On his part, the Managing Director, Verdant Zeal, Dr. Tunji Olugbodi said that the exhibition was part of the company’s activities to celebrate her 10 years of existence.

“The proceeds from the photo exhibition will go to the needy because we believe in the improvement, quality of life and overall development of people in the society. GCI is a Cooperative Social Responsibility initiative to support special schools, organizations and people in general.

“Our beneficiaries will include Sickle Cell Foundations, Children’s Development Centres, Spinal Cord Injuries Association, Save Our Needy, Federal Nigerian Society for The Blind, Wesley’s School for Hearing Impaired Children, Atunda-ola School for The Physically Challenged,” Olugbodi said.
