Elumelu leads discussions on SME development at LAPO forum today

Tony O. Elumelu, Chairman, Heirs Holdings, the United Bank of Africa and Tony Elumelu Foundation will lead discussions on Galvanizing SMEs for Inclusive Development at this year’s Annual LAPO Development Forum holding today in Lagos.
Pat Utomi, a professor of political economy and management expert is expected to chair the occasion, according to Sabina Idowu-Osehobo, executive director, LAPO.
The conference programme will consist of high-profile plenary lectures and technical sessions with inputs from key sectors of the economy. Operators of micro, small and medium enterprises, development partners, commercial and microfinance banks, policy makers, civil society organizations and other critical stakeholders are expected to participate and make significant contributions with inputs from key sectors of the economy.
The outcome of the Forum would be a well-documented report containing presentations, discussions, major conclusions and recommendations capable of providing a realistic road map for achieving a vibrant SMEs sector armed with the wherewithal to drive Nigeria’s economic growth and development.
The Annual LAPO Development Forum provides a veritable platform for stakeholders in development to discuss and proffer practical solutions to identified issues in poverty and development. In 2016, former President Olusegun Obasanjo delivered the keynote speech at the annual forum held under the theme: Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture in Nigeria: Challenges and Opportunities.
